"In prison she found freedom"
Provoked is a 2007 UK movie. A film by Jug Mundhra and starring by Aishwarya Rai. Kiranjit Ahluwalia, a homemaker and mother of two, living in UK with her 2 children and abusive, alcoholic husband, Deepak Ahluwalia. Unable to bear the brutality and repeated rapes at the hands of her spouse, she sets fire to his feet while he is sleeping, unintentionally killing him. Charged with murder, her case comes to the notice of a group of social workers running an under funded organization called the Southall Black Sisters.
This movie is based on a true story and Kiranjit Ahluwalia gives an award by Prime Minister's wife Cherie Blair for her crusade against domestic violence.
I have no idea. Is it typical of Asia female? In Fact that you could just leave your husband who did domestic violence or turn him into the police or hundred other options. And the truth is almost similiar case found here. I know it's difficult to leave the one you loved. But other options make you happy.
